CIDI Chanapatana officially known as Chanapatana International Design Institute. Thailand’s first institute dedicated to international design education
Founded on 13 November 2000 by Somdet Phra Nyanavajirodom (Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo), the revered Lord Abbot of Dhammamongkol Temple, the institute was established with a vision to nurture world-class design talent.
With a curriculum developed in collaboration with leading Italian design institutions and a faculty of international experts, CIDI offers a dynamic learning environment that mirrors the European design education experience.
Design Education, Taught by Practicing Experts
Design knowledge is delivered by professionals with hands-on experience in the field. Each course is guided by mentors whose work spans across fashion, product, and interior design.
A strong emphasis is placed on practical learning, allowing students to develop skills through real-world projects and close creative guidance.

Student works from the Fashion Design and Industrial Design programs showcase a range of ideas shaped through hands-on exploration and guided practice.
The outfit titled “Genderless”, designed by Thiraphon Tothuanthob, expresses a powerful idea: No one has the right to define your identity, your thoughts, your behavior, or how you express yourself.
Another outfit, named “Sane and Sober” by Thanart Boramanand, delivers a bold message: A sane man in an insane world.
Phanom Chongkol designed the DUCATI showroom, combining the sporty spirit of DUCATI with the charm of a historic riverside building along the Chao Phraya River.
A unique collaboration between alumni Jirawat Tangkijngamwong, founder of DEESAWAT, and Methawee Angthong, founder of BLACK SUGAR. They created a teakwood chair combining DEESAWAT’s craftsmanship with BLACK SUGAR’s bold fashion identity.
